U.S. based cameraman, filmmaker and video-journalist

Eammon Ashton-Atkinson is an award winning cameraman, documentary filmmaker and journalist.

His debut feature documentary Steelers: the world’s first gay rugby club has been aquired by Amazon Prime and Paramount+ and played in film festivals in 7 countries, including BFI Flare, the New Zealand International Film Festival and Queer Screen Australia where it won the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature. Eammon filmed, wrote, directed and produced the film which also had a cinematic release in Australia, New Zealand and the US.

As a cinematographer Eammon has worked for some of the world’s leading brands including Facebook, Toyota, Lexus, PwC, Allianz, Lamborghini and Bugatti. His work has featured on billboards in Times Square and in national television advertisements in the US.

Eammon began working as a television journalist in 2011 as a cadet for 7 News in Australia. In 2016 Eammon moved to London where freelanced at ITV’s Good Morning Britain and Al Jazeera.

In 2018 he began working as a foreign correspondent for Network 10 Australia, first as their Europe correspondent covering major stories like Brexit, the royal family and the Notre Dame Cathedral fire. In 2020, he moved to New York City to become the US correspondent and reported on the Covid-19 pandemic while the city was the epicenter of the global outbreak. He now lives in Washington DC covering US politics.

Eammon is also a lawyer admitted to practice in Australia and received the 2021 Outstanding Young Alumnus Award for Griffith University - Law, Arts and Education.
